George A. Smathers Library East Exhibits the Ultimate Pop Culture Throwback

The original Superman comics, manuscripts from the year 1250 A.D., news clips from the Kennedy Assassination and even more can be found at the University of Florida’s George A. Smathers Library East. James Liversidge, the curator of the Popular Culture Collections, gives a quick tour through the past.

What we collect represents the period mostly from the ‘20s through the current day. So you’ll have representation from the Depression, World War II, the Cold War, the ‘50s, the Vietnam War, Watergate. And it’s all represented in everything: comic books, music, television, radio and film.
