In the context of “New Consuming Trends” a course of Panteion University, taught by Mrs Betty Tsakarestou, our team (Shooters) participated in a research project called Mobile Me and You, following the Mobile Collaborative Consumption and Sharing Economy trends. The subject of the project concerns the relationship of Millennials with their mobile phones and their impact on the society and on the market. We decided to focus our research on Photo Editing Apps Applications.

After our individual research on the mobile use, the teams of our lab decided to work together in order to create a big canvas . The task given shared the information that we had with the second team of our laboratory and then detect the common results of our work. So, lets start analyzing a little bit more.

First of all,we noticed that the number 1 preferred mobile application is Instagram. Specifically, both teams agreed that 85 out of 100 percentage of the Millenials are using Instagram in a daily basis. An interesting fact is also that Facebook is not as powerful as it used to be and people tend to use more the messenger app for their communication. At least 8 0ut of 10 Millenials are using this app comparing to Facebook where this percentage is much lower.

Moreover, as far as entertainment is concerned it is observed that the dominant app is YouTube. We found out that they spend more than 1 hour on YouTube because of the variety that the app itself offers because they can find any type of video they want on this app. Although in general terms the entertainment apps are free of charge it is noticed that Millennials are willing to pay for apps like Spotify considering that they can find there gathered all the types of music they like.

Furthermore, many people claimed that someone can also find a job with the help of their phone. Starting with the simplest app like mail that you can communicate with the company that you are interested to work for and continue with apps like LinkedIn that you have the ability to upload your cv and contact directly with the manager.

Finally, we will present you some extra findings that both of our team had. The most interesting was the fact that the first thing that Millennials are doing after they wake up is checking their phones. They prefer asking for a possible message rather than drinking a coffee. Last but not least, the Millennials are using their mobiles phones in the same way in the same way as the used to use their computers. Finally, they don’t need their computers to complete their work they have everything they want and need in their hands!!
