Mobile Me and You Project (Streaming Apps) Part IV|Mobile Reputations Course| AD&PR Lab
More and more trends overwhelm our contemporary world. In the purposes of our course ‘’Mobile Reputations’’, we, as students of AD&PR Lab of Panteion University , run a survey in order to investigate the usage that the Millennials do in their self phones. Specifically we choose to focus on streaming platforms by interviewing 10 persons in order to meet the needs of our project.
In this part you are going to meet Nikola Griva!
Nikolas is 21 years old. He studies Electrical Engineering at University of West Attica. He considers himself as a smart “gadget” boy, since he loves using anything electronic. Nikolas uses his phone approximately 5–6 hours per day. Every morning before gets up from the bed, he checks his timeline and he likes watching the news and reading articles. He really loves browsing on his social media accounts , mostly on instagram and facebook. In the night he likes to connect wirelessly his phone to his TV to watch movies and series.
Nikolas confessed us that he would feel totally lost if we took away his phone. It would be a strange feeling for him because he use it all the time and not only for social usage, but also for navigation, communication and pretty much for almost everything. In order to schedule his day he uses only the alarm clock and the calendar app. Regarding college issues he prefers using his laptop because of the bigger screen. It is a lot more practical to him and he believes that he could avoid naive mistakes that in a small screen couldn’t see. Besides his mobile and his laptop, Nikolas uses a smart watch too. He believes that it help him to reduce the usage of his phone and definitely save time. Among the gadgets, he favors mobile phone because it is a lot more easier to handle and carry with you. Nikolas told us that he likes to share videos and images with his friends for fun and sometimes share material with his professors and classmates for University purposes. He also confessed us that he avoids using his phone when he is out with friends because he prefers to communicate in real life than a virtual one. But sometimes his friends actually do that and it makes him feel annoyed.
Moreover Nikolas is in favor of using sharing apps. He has used airbnb for traveling purposes. He told us that at first wasn’t easy to trust a stranger since you don’t know anything about him but beyond that this kind of platforms are really helpful but a little bit awkward to him. Also he doesn’t follow any influencers because he believes that everything they are doing has only one purpose to be more popular. Nikolas likes to use his mobile for online shopping. He usually shop clothes and technological gadgets, mostly on eBay and GearBest. Now regarding streaming platforms , Nikolas use them in order to relax and for his personal amusement. Netfilx, youtube, spotify and Streamhunter are his favorite. He approximately spends 5 hours per day but in specific occasions such as NBA he might spend more than 8 hours.
