In the context of “New Consuming Trends” a course of Panteion University, taught by Mrs Betty Tsakarestou, our team (Shooters) participated in a research project called Mobile Me and You, following the Mobile Collaborative Consumption and Sharing Economy trends. The subject of the project concerns the relationship of Millennials with their mobile phones and their impact on the society and on the market. We decided to focus our research on Photo Editing Apps Applications.

After the local and international interviews, we divided our research to four big categories : entertainment, communication, business and informative apps. More analytically, entertainment is directly connected with mobile phones. Entertainment apps are easy to use with low or no cost at all and accessible on the go. As we saw, YouTube has been replaced by other apps that attract the gaming community of Μillenials. Two of the most growing apps that are into this generation are Twich for gaming platforms and Netflix for its amusement character.

As far as communication is concerned, Instagram is a digital representation of Μillenials profiles. Although, Facebook is not as powerful as it was in the past, messenger ,which is a part of Facebook app, it is still a fundamental tool for young users nowadays. Something we should mention is that viber is more active in Greek community while whats app is more famous worldwide. Moreover, in the business category we noticed that the 80% of Millennials are making their bank transactions via e-banking apps. Last but very important detail from the business part, is the fact that we cant realize how significant is our e-mail because we do not give that much attention to it daily. But, we understood that e-mail is such a crucial app in business management.

We couldn't ignore the category of informative apps. We observed that Μillenials do not download specific informative applications such as capital.gr. However, they admitted that they prefer safari or google chrome in order to learn the daily news. To sum up, it was impressive the fact that many Μillennials use the weather application.

In conclusion, through our research on mobile me and mobile me and you we came up with some very interesting results. First of all, we found out that we also belong to the generation of Μillennials, something that we could not realize before. The categories that we chose were very helpful for the people who took part in the research and they agreed that they have divided their smartphone applications in a similar way.
