Mobile Me and You Project |Mobile Reputations Course| AD&PR Lab

In the course “Mobile Reputations” at Panteion University, studies were carried out among Millennials concerning their interaction with their mobile phones. In this section we will focus on Vicky from Cleveland OHIO

Vicky is 20 years old and she is studying psychology at Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland Ohio. She has had a mobile phone since she was 14 years old. Presently she has 67 applications. She refers to her mobile phone as her “precious”. She uses Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook and the Safari app to check her mail at school.

Facebook is used multiple times daily. Instagram, however, is her favorite app and the most used. She posts a story once every two weeks, pictures once a month, watch short videos daily as well as post nice pictures on her regular Instagram and funny ones on her fake one. She’s really into the stories as she claims they let people express themselves and inform them about their day.

Her phone is also used to help her with school work. She checks her email to see if she has assignments due for the week in her classes. As far as shopping online, Vicky rarely buys things on the net, maybe about once a year. She has a few similar apps, TV show apps like the CW, ABC, Netflix and Hulu, where she watches different shows. She says she deleted an app recently because it was taking up too much storage on her phone.

Generally speaking, Vicky uses her phone every day and it is in her hands for most of the day. When she is in class or at work she rarely uses her phone but she often uses it for a few minutes because she wants to answer messages or go on Instagram or Twitter to see what is happening in the world.
