It’s a Phillips head screw that should be easily removed. If you have stripped it:
- Try placing a rubberband between the screw head and the driver bit. Unscrew the screw.
- Try using a few layers of tin foil in the manner described above.
- Carefully place a very small amount of super glue or epoxy in the tip of the driver tip, insert the tip into the head of the screw. Find a creative way to support its perpendicular position until the glue or epoxy dries. Remove the screw. Do not re-use this screw.
The best way to avoid stripping the screw is to use the proper size tool for the part that is specified. Repair guides will always tell you what size the screw head is, and quality repair technician tool-kits always label the size of their attachments.
