Hats…for Maps

A Maps panel

Onto another adventure in beta firmware for iOS and more surprises.

Many of us thought the last round of betas would be the last until the next iPhone release. Alas…this is not the case:

What has changed?

Well…dare I say that mobile Safari is a bit snappier? Yes.

Also, Maps extensions. You can now toggle on and toggle off Yelp data in Maps for iOS. While that might not seem like a big deal on the surface, it is highly unlikely that Cupertino placed this toggle in Maps because they got requests from users to clear Maps of Yelp data. Rather, it opens the box for other 3rd party geo-spatial search data providers to provide their data for use…or to not use…at the flick of a switch by the user.
