Google the Search engine tech giant finally updated its Google play store policies to prevent the spread of applications that violate the policies of the play store. Amid all this policy crackdown play store removed the “Remove china apps” application from the store. It is one of the most popular applications among COVID 19 but has been removed by the tech giant because it is violating the new COVID 19 policies as per the reports.

Earlier to this, it was also reported that the Google play store has removed the Mitron app. The app has been created by developers against the TikTok application. Well, the tech giant has not confirmed why the play store has removed this app from the store but according to some resources, it is revealed that Google usually removes apps that violate its Store policies. The same policy violation was done by Mitron. The app is “red-flagged” by the play app store and it is suspended due to its ‘spam and minimum functionality’ policy.

The tech giant Google has not only removed the #REMOVECHINAAPPS but also the applications that are using copied or irrelevant content which means copying features or data of some other applications in the store.

However, if you have a “Remove China Apps” application on your phone then, the best part is that you can still use this app without any issue.

For those who are not aware of this app then, let us make you clear that remove China Apps is a new application launched on Google play store on May 17, 2020.

This application was created by mobile app developers to delete the Chinese applications. As we all know, amid the novel coronavirus, people are facing a lot of problems in these times. Thus, using this app to delete all Chinese applications on their phones is something that is making people happy. The app in a very short period crossed millions of installs. “Remove china apps” application mainly scans the user’s mobile device and then lists the applications with China as their source. The app also allows users to decide which Chinese app they want to keep in their phones and which they want to remove.

Before this action, India’s Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has also aggressively advised the people of India to boycott goods made by overseas firms and informed people to choose the products which are made in India instead of foreign products to improve the present economy of the country. The nation’s 1.3 billion citizens mostly avoid local alternatives and choose foreign products. Thus, it is the right time to make India “self-sufficient” and perk up the slowing economy.

The application was downloaded by more than one million people in India on their phones to remove Chinese apps present on their mobile phones. Indeed, the Chinese app removal application was leading the charts with a 4.9 rating on the play store until Tuesday morning. The app was free to use and was the top free app on the Android App Store.

Policy violations

According to the Google play store policies, the app was not following the behavior rules. The privacy policies of the Android store clearly illustrate that an app cannot promote users to eliminate third-party apps, and if an app is doing such behavior then it will be suspended. The application was specially designed to help users uninstall the Chinese apps from their Android mobile phones. The app was published on the Android app store on May 17, 2020. It has been less than 15 days since the inception of this app in the market but it has created a unique place in the play store. The app mainly came into public interest last week. The “Remove China Apps” app even emerged as the top trending mobile app on Google Play and crossed more than 50 lakh downloads in a very short period.

The app particularly came to its reality when all the people across the globe are against China. At present, in India, the anti-China sentiment is at peak and people hate the country for several reasons including the outbreak of novel coronavirus.

Well, in addition to the above Remove china apps application is the second application that has been removed from the Android store this week. This anti- china application removal app was removed from the store, after the Mitron app. Both these applications are removed for violating the policy condition.

The application was developed by OneTouch AppLabs and the suspension of the app from the app store was also confirmed through a tweet post. OneTouch AppLabs is a Jaipur-based company that the people are using this app with their own choice and the main aim of this app was not to promote to remove apps made by Chinese developers. The app was developed for educational purposes only.

Google confirmed to Gadgets 360 that it decided to pull the Remove China Apps for violating Google Play’s Deceptive Behaviour Policy that doesn’t allow apps that “encourage or incentivize users into removing or disabling third-party apps” and “mislead users into removing or disabling third-party apps”.

Additional applications removed by Google play store

In addition to the above popular applications removal from the store, Google has also removed a total of 85 spiteful mobile apps from various categories after the experts found these apps to be malicious to the mobile app users. These 85 mobile apps were accessible in the form of TV, game, and remote apps. These malicious applications ask users to press various buttons again and again until the app finally crashes.

This is not the first time when Google came with its strict guidelines about the removal of applications. The search engine tech giant in November eliminated more than 13 malicious apps from Android Store after they were found to contain poor and legitimate features that helped the play store to maintain its quality of the application and avoid fraud activities.

Conclusion:

In simple words, we can say that there are various reasons due to which Google removed these apps from the Play Store. For now, we can say that these applications are just violating the standards of the Android store, which give rise to the need for more strict actions from Google. Overall, it is important to download familiar apps from trusted sources to keep your device safe and secure from security patches and keeping your device up to date.
