M+ is a thought-leadership platform that seeks to make sense of emerging global trends through the lens of mobility.

“…and what is mobility?” you might ask…

Mobility is the power to move and connect.

Mobility is not a technology, or a business model, or a lifestlye — rather, we see mobility as a lens through which we can understand the complex forces and trends that are shaping the world today.

The aspects and implications of mobility are numerous, but we like to break it down into four major categories:

Transport Mobility
Technologies that empower people and goods to move across space more efficiently than ever before.

Enterprise Mobility
Models that empower companies to be in any market and communicate with any stakeholder at a lower cost than ever before.

Lifestyle Mobility
Trends that empower individuals to live, work, and manage relationships more flexibly and freely than ever before.

Social and Economic Mobility
Institutions that empower populations to transcend traditional boundaries of class and identity.

This platform is designed to build up four C’s: community, content, cross-pollination, and credibility.

Community: Establish and facilitate a global community of mobility enthusiasts and contributors to the dialogue around mobility issues

Content: Curate, generate and facilitate intelligent observations and analyses about current mobility trends

Cross-pollination: Share and apply insights between diverse industries to support key mobility players and generate novel mobility solutions

Credibility: Establish genuine expertise and thought-leadership authority in the broader mobility field.

There’s a lot that we want to do with this project, of course, but the first phase (Mobility+ 1.0) will feature three specific initiatives:

Mobility Content Aggregator (MCA)

A social media repository of mobility-related content. This will be 3rd-party content with limited editorial analysis from our contributing partners. It will be an exercise in identifying how mobility is a common factor that underlies many seemingly disparate trends and events. It will serve as the core of a growing body of knowledge, and a record of contemporary mobility issues; in the future, this content can be scraped for data to more precisely understand how different strains of mobility concepts evolve over time. Running now on Facebook at mobility.plus

Premium Content

Proprietary content created by M+ that will establish our brand as a credible thought-leader in mobility issues. Premium content will include:

  1. The Mobility Leaders — a series of profiles/interviews with influential business leaders, innovators, thinkers, etc.
  2. This Month in Mobility — a monthly email newsletter featuring in-depth analysis and commentary on mobility issues.
  3. MobPod — a fun podcast in which members of the M+ community chat with interesting guests about the quirkier aspects of mobility.

ThinkMobility Events

A series of mobility-themed thought-leadership events held under any number of auspices. These could be M+ branded or conducted under the auspices of other partnerships.

Get Involved

Contribute content to the MCA

We’ll grant you posting privileges to our Mobility+ MCA feed on Facebook. Then just scan your social media feeds for anything that relates to mobility and post it the MCA with a line or two of analysis/commentary. We are looking to aggregate content that captures the tremendous breadth of mobility issues, so feel free to include anything that can be interpreted as a mobility issue including social & economic mobility, transport mobility, lifestyle mobility, etc.

Identify mobility resources in your community

Contribute to a list of contacts/resources that would be valuable to M+ as:

  • Interviewees for premium content such as the Mobility Leaders or MobPod series
  • Potential event partners (such as thought-leaders or corporate sponsors)

Help develop M+

The world of mobility is getting more interesting every day! Connect with us at Mobility.plus and let us know what socioeconomic trends, technologies, business models, and lifestyles are on your radar, and how they fit in to the larger mobility puzzle! We also need smart people working on strategy, development, operations, communications, etc. If you have talent and a bit of time to commit to an exciting new project, let’s talk!
