MobiTech — The technology podcast by Mobimeo
“Welcome to MobiTech, I am Vini, Engineering Lead at Mobimeo.” That is what you will hear at the beginning of each episode. But how did we get there? Read below the story behind our show.
The idea
As an enthusiastic podcast listener myself, I have always dreamed of having my own. Actually, as a child, my dream was to work on the radio, but that is a topic for another post. The course of life brought me here to Berlin and at the beginning of 2020 I started working on my goals for the year with my lead and the idea of a podcast came up. At that moment I learned we had another engineer who is also passionate about podcasts, so Ahmed Talaat joined the project. We started to sketch some stuff and read about how to properly record an episode and so on. We decided to try out and record a pilot, for that we also had Ahmed Ateek’s support.
The whys
I believe that talent is one of the key factors to a successful company. With that in mind, I am convinced that by sharing our way of thinking and working we can attract talents who share the same values. At Mobimeo we already have blog posts and conferences to share our ideas to attract people. In addition to that, I believe that podcasts give a different perspective by connecting the company, the hosts, the guests and the audience. As we are usually talking about technology mostly applied to solve public transportation problems, I think that a series of interesting episodes can help to position Mobimeo as a company of excellence.
The content
From the beginning it was clear to us that we wanted to have a technical podcast to share our experiences, knowledge and potentially have some external guests to also learn from. We believe that a structure of Host/Co-host with guests is the best way to deliver our message. We also hired an agency super-experienced in coaching, creating and editing podcasts that helped us to shape and structure our episodes (https://radiofobia.com.br).
In our episodes we want to share what we do on the tech side, as well as the product perspective and how we apply our design to our apps. Our goal is to be able to give a full picture of what and how we do things here at Mobimeo.
