As Mobius rapidly expands, we are proud to announce that Monis Rahman has joined the team as Head Research Scientist of Mathematical Implementation and Protocol Design.

Monis is a Stanford PhD in Computational & Mathematical Engineering (on leave) focused on market design and real-life applications in Machine Learning. He is leaving his Stanford PhD to join Mobius full-time as we rapidly intensify our research and development of next generation blockchain protocols. Monis worked closely with Paul Milgromthe preeminent market design theorist in the field of economics — to develop novel mathematical models governing advanced game theoretic auction markets. Monis’ work pioneered stochastic kriging based meta models for mission critical auction simulations. In addition, Monis has consulted with the Government of India, major institutional banks, and various executive stakeholders in order to design and implement solutions for stressed assets.

He has worked extensively at the Stanford University School of Medicine with Emmanuel Mignot, MD, PhD in applying Deep Learning techniques to accurately sequence T-Cell Receptor DNA after VDJ somatic cell recombination. His work was able to successfully identify autoimmune T-cells that cause narcolepsy. Overall, his graduate work encompasses the fields of computational math and machine learning, where he has applied deep neural networks and AI to solve real world problems ranging from cutting-edge medical research to analyzing global financial data to make keen market predictions.

Together we are working to build next generation blockchain technology to scale and Monis shares our vision that our work will, “disrupt existing monopolies and lead the coming IoT data revolution”. He believes that our technology will seed the future of autonomous decentralized AI systems and that “without the blockchain there is no IoT data revolution.”

Monis says, “I’m excited to be part of the team that seeks to engineer the largest market ever conceived.”
