Millennials are known for the importance they put on experiences rather than things. Millennials, one of the highest paid generations, understand that money can’t buy you happiness so they spend their disposable income on epic vacations, concerts, and other experiences. With the advent of smartphones and increasingly sophisticated camera technology for personal devices, pictures and video of these experiences are collecting in camera rolls all over the world.

But what happens to the video clips and pictures from travel and nights out? Mobs knows that these cherished moments often get left behind in your cell phone. Maybe a year later you go back to take a look at them or you’ve got a friend who is rather savvy with some free video editing software and so a lasting keepsake comes out of the most important moments in life. But if you’ve ever tried to collect photos from friends, or ask for video clips of an event in order to put it into iMovie, you know how complicated it can be. With complex software and everyone using different storage options, these captured memories often get forgotten until Facebook or Snapchat reminds you.

So, what does the market look like for digital keepsakes?

There are a few companies out there that will help you take photos and turn them into a photo album like Snapfish and Shutterfly, but this process doesn’t help us keep things digital in this minimalistic era. There are also options for text messages and emails to be turned into a book. But when it comes to video or all your digital memories kept in one place that helps you relive a special moment, we haven’t seen many out there.

One company, called txt-book, allows you to make a hardbound book of all your text messages. With txt-book you can choose your preferred look, iPhone style message bubbles or plain text, and they will even bind it for you with a customizable hardcover if that’s what you want.

Zapptales takes converting chat messages into a keepsake one step further. They’ll make a book out of your chat history content. Using Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger, you can put together a book of your entire chat history with text messages, photos, and emojis. What about videos, you say? You can have them add QR codes to your book that will directly link to your videos from your chat.

And then there’s Mobs! Mobs is the first to turn pictures, videos, and chat messages into a truly digital keepsake. Mobs aims to convert your chat history into a video keepsake. By utilizing smart technology to handle the whole editing process, your videos, and pictures, and messages, and emojis, and GIFs…… all are included in a video memory you can watch over and over again. The best part is you don’t have to organize your friends or others at the event. By starting a Mob chat group, everyone enjoying the same event as you can share content and interact in the chat and the app does the rest. Mobs gives you a solution that is truly digital and truly collaborative so your memories are filled with every perspective, making a well-rounded video story for you and your fellow collaborators to keep and relive again and again.

Amazing things happen when we come together!
