October extinguished itself in a rush of howling winds and driving rain and November arrived, cold as frozen iron, with hard frosts every morning and icy drafts that bit at exposed hands and faces.

State of the Network

We have seen an increase in the mining difficulty with a peak at 38. It is a good sign; the global hashrate is increasing.

There has been a significant drop in the occurrence of chain splits, mostly due to the 2.5 beta test node running the new synchronization module .

We have passed the landmark of 20 MCM per mining reward. It will keep increasing for the next 32 months to a maximum of 60 MCM before the decreasing phase kicks in.

Development

We have started the closed beta test of the 2.5 update. At the moment, we are focusing on the stability of the network with a brand-new synchronization mechanism. We have already seen some good results on the network with a significant decrease in chain splits.

The next phase of the beta test will focus on trying out the new multi-destination transaction feature on the testnet.

Finally, the last phase will be about delivering the much anticipated privacy layer, which will allow the creation of “bearer certificates” and will be the basis of many features in the future.

We are working on fixing the bugs of the block explorer, including the Tag roll issue, timestamp and navigation.

Dedicated servers have been set up for the fountains and the public API.

The GUI of the mobile wallet is now complete. The next step will be the implementation of the backend processing module.

The update of the Mojo wallet is almost done. Expect a release in the coming weeks.
