In bittersweet news, the talented Anika Johnstone is moving to the UK for a year. Her partner has been awarded a fellowship at the University of Cambridge and so they are off for the adventure! So if you know anyone in London or Cambridge with an interesting project who needs an experience (VX/ CX) or service designer, strategist, communicator or creative project manager let us know and we’ll pass it on.

This seat could be filled by you as our new Senior Exhibitions Manager

But that means we are looking to replace her Senior Exhibitions Manager role as soon as we can. The role oversees the design and development of six-monthly exhibitions, taking ideas and interrogating them for creative and functional fit with our themes and gallery spaces, and then through to concepts and detailed design for exhibits. This role looks after a small team of exhibition coordinators who also help support production and installation. It’s a broad role that will suit someone who loves making creative things happen and is willing to innovate the messy work of negotiating, contracting and project management in order to deliver amazing and experiential outcomes.

In this exciting role within MOD., the Senior Exhibitions Manager will be responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of exhibitions. You will work closely with the Director: MOD. to ensure that all aspects of MOD.’s programs, development and management is in accordance with the vision of MOD.

Skills and Experience

You will have tertiary qualifications and significant experience, knowledge and skills, as well as extensive curatorial experience. You will have experience in leading small teams to achieve outcomes independently, extensive experience managing creative projects from initiation to delivery, as well as project management skills to effectively prioritise in a complex work environment.

Your natural curiosity and interest in creating a fun, engaging museum experience, coupled with your solution-focused orientation, will ensure both your success in the role and the success of MOD.’s unique and innovative seasonal exhibitions.

Senior Exhibitions Manager (HEO 8)

  • Based within MOD. located in the new University of South Australia Cancer Research Institute building on North Terrace, Adelaide
  • Full time fixed term contract until 24th January 2020
  • Salary range: $96,150 — $108,705 per annum plus super
