How to Effortlessly 10x Your Results by Working Smarter Not Harder

I do not understand how people can spend hours on end, day in, day out working or studying. I see it all the time at the university library — the same people, in the same spot no matter when I’m there.

That is just not practical, nor is it beneficial to your life as a whole. Everything you do in life affects each other. If you put all your focus into one part of your life that means you must neglect others. And you CANNOT make substantial progress in your life if other parts are out of order.

Sure you might know a hell of a lot about being a doctor, but what other skills have you got? Can you cook? Can you communicate? In the grand scheme of things you're not going to be successful.

Work Smarter not Harder

We’ve all heard it before, “You’re doing it wrong, work smarter not harder”

But how do you that?

I’ll tell you— stop putting all your time and energy into achieving one result.

If you’re in school, achieving good grades should not be the main focus for your time and energy. Focus equally on self-learning and personal growth. Then the results will become a side effect.

“Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.” — Jim Rohn

If your time away from the classroom is filled with high-level and productive uses of that time. Then that will unknowingly carry through to your school work and it will become effortless.

An Example

I’ve just finished my 4th semester of university and achieved the best results I’ve ever had by doing such. I shifted my focus to personal growth — I didn’t miss a day at the gym, I dialed in my diet, started reading more and worked on my writing.

When it came to my university work compared to past semesters, I was putting in a fraction of the time. But achieving far greater results.

What changed? I had other things going on in my life that I wanted to accomplish, I wasn’t wasn't walking around all day worrying about a 20% assignment that needed be done. I had other things to do.

When it came to my university work, I would just sit down and do it. With very little effort, the answers would flow to the pages. I cut the worrying and thinking, because I knew the quicker I got it done the sooner I could get back to the other things I wanted to do.

Everything was spilling over from one another — the productivity and discipline I was gaining from all my personal development meant I was working smarter not harder and my university work truly became effortless.

In Conclusion

Achieving more, might mean doing less.

Stop focusing on only one goal, build your whole life — not just one part. That is how you will reach your goals by working smarter, not harder. Because you cannot make substantial progress in your life if parts are out of order.
