Whenever Cartoon Network is brought up on in conversations, there’s a rush of nostalgia that floods my brain. I reminisce about the fascinating cartoons I used to watch on this channel, all those years ago.

CodeName: Kids Next Door, Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, The Power Puff Girls, Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends. There’s a plethora of iconic cartoons that Cartoon Network provided for us.

These were the shows that ignited my childlike imagination. And I wasn’t the only one. Millions of Generation Z children, tuned into Cartoon Network growing up. And still fondly remember the incredible entertainment it provided.

Show’s with high levels of popularity and prominence, never easily fade away into the dust. They’re remembered by fans, years, sometimes decades after they end. And there’s a good reason why…

Cartoons pull people( especially young children) into worlds of imagination. Worlds where the impossible, becomes possible.

This of course comes with it’s positives and negatives.

Children do have a high tendency to imitate the actions that they view on screen. Occasionally these actions are physically violent, which leads to children practising the violence in their homes.

On the flip side, these shows can spark the imagination of children. I remember watching Scooby-Doo as a child, it made me want to embark on fascinating adventures with my friends in the park. It widened my curiosity for the world, it dared me to venture, and explore the world around me.

And that’s just for me.

Powerpuff Girls showed young girls that girls can also become cool superheroes. Dexters Laboratory, urged young scientists to pursue their passion for science. The Codename: Kids Next Door, boosted our innovative thinking, teaching us how to think outside the box.

Perhaps the real merit of these cartoons, was their ability to inspire. The ability to urge us into pursuing an early passion or dream.

Cartoon Network shows are always fondly remembered by adults. Upon mentioning these shows, nostalgic flashbacks are likely to race through their mind.

Yet, if adults re-watch these cartoons today, it’s likely that they’ll view the shows in a different way to before. It’ll still be fun and entertaining, but the magic that made the show so special in their youth will appears to of gone away.

I believe that this is because, when we watched these shows as children are youthful imagination was incredibly higher than what it is during adulthood.

When we watched these shows as children, our imagination was let loose. I think back to watching Codename: Kids Next Door As a Child. Watching a group of 10 year old kids assemble a laser weapon, out of: A flashlight, a tin-can, and a glass bottle was inspiring. It made me feel as though I could go outside with my group of friends and do the same thing.

In my opinion this is the magic that Cartoon Network had. It stimulated our imaginations, giving us the opportunity to temporarily enter a world of excitement.

The Shows May Have Ended, But There Not Forgotten.

Cartoon Network’s heydays are behind us. Although they are still producing entertaining cartoons for a new generation of children. Cartoon Network is long past it’s peak.

Despite this Cartoon Network is far from dead. Fans never forgot about how gret these shows where. Cartoon Network is strongly apart of internet culture. It’s common to see Cartoon Network related memes and discussions across social media. People still cherish these old and entertaining cartoons.

And because of that, they’ll exist for a while.
