The UK’s fast-food industry has been a cut-throat and competitive industry for decades.

Over the last half — century American multinational companies such as: Burger King, KFC and McDonald’s have established a strong presence in the UK and across all of Europe.

These three companies have fiercely rivaled each other for sales.

The last five decades have seen these three: undercut prices, seek to expand locations and aggressively advertise through a multitude of channels, to capture consumers attentions.

The UK’s fast-food industry has been a chaotic battlefield, as newcomers enter the market and major players continue to dominate.

But it appears as though McDonald’s is the victor. As McDonalds’s possesses a strong lead in market share over KFC and Burger King.

Regardless of profit margins, food lovers still debate whether McDonald’s truly is the best Fast-Food restaurant in the country.

This article explores who’s the best.

Taste:

KFC:

Starting off with the most important aspect of food, the actual taste of the food.

When it comes to taste, it’s important to mention that each restaurant specialises in different foods.

KFC focuses their efforts on perfecting their crispy and succulent fried chicken. Whereas McDonald’s and Burger King, prioritise creating all-American mouthwatering burgers such as: The Big Mac and The Whopper.

KFC’s fried chicken is unrivaled. Crispy pieces of chicken, which are well seasoned using a secret old recipe.

Their chicken is soft and tender, allowing eaters to comfortably munch all the down to the bone.

The chicken even has a distinct smell, which adds for a charming fragrance upon biting into the piece.

Burger King:

Burger King’s burgers are iconic. Their signature Whopper hamburger is a thick, juicy and flavoursome burger. That’s stuffed with fresh vegetables and fluffy buns of bread.

The taste is immaculate, and it’s easy to understand why this burger has been a fan favourite for decades.

McDonald's:

McDonalds’s burgers are globally iconic.

The Big Mac is an old school all-American burger, that is widely recognized as the signature dish of McDonalds.

A two-patty burger that’s stacked with cheese, lettuce and pickles.

The main highlight of the burger is the sauce. It’s a sauce that’s rich in flavour, a sweet and soothing mayonnaise that perfectly complements the juicy patties.

Kfc’s ice cream sundae’s

KFC’s is most well known for their chicken; however, they have diversified their menu to target all their consumers tastes.

A noticeable addition to KFC’s menu is their ice-cream selection, which features a well-known selection of chocolate brands such as: Aero and Milkybar.

KFC serves a softly whipped vanilla sundae, drizzled by Milkybar or Aero chocolate sauce.

Additionally, out of all the restaurants KFC is the only restaurant that serves rice. The Southern Rice dish a nutritious blend of flavour, with peppers and peas packed into a seasoned and spicy serving of rice.

Burger King:

Burger King fries

Burger King’s specialty is their burgers, I mean it’s in the name.

But what comes in 2nd place, is their fries.

Their thickly cut, lightly salted and delicious fries. Burger Kings fries are a crispy sensation, that nicely complements their beefy burgers. They easily surpass KFC’s fries, and their borderline with McDonald’s fries.

Overall, Burger Kings menu is simplistic, with chicken fries and onion rings being the only other noteworthy additions.

Mcdonalds’s Mcflurry and Apple Pies

McDonald’s menu is innovative.

Whether it’s their sweet Mcflurry’s or their savoury apple pies. McDonald’s is home to a diverse and unique menu.

To start with, they are the only restaurant that offers a breakfast menu.

Their breakfast menu features signature foods — like their pancakes. Fluffy and light delights, that are glazed in a sugary and sticky maple syrup.

Moving onto their main dishes, the happy meal is one of the most iconic children’s meals in history. The captivating red box, that’s filled with fun on the inside.

It appears as though, McDonald’s has the power to personalise every food on their menu, which is what makes McDonald’s menu unique and special.
