5 brilliant podcasts to support you on your healing journey
Show me your Spotify podcast list, and I’ll tell you who you are. As dramatic as it sounds, streaming platforms are our unique digital footprints, and podcasts we listen to can have a powerful impact on our reality. Here is my list of 5 podcasts that support me in my healing journey and help me reprogram my mind.
We are what we consume, listen to, read, and watch. If you want to heal your wounds and change your life, you need an environment that supports your journey.
While you might not be able to change who you interact with daily, you can choose what you listen to in your spare time.
Your thoughts become your reality and with the help of podcasts, you can reframe them to your advantage.
I’ve found many different podcasts in my search for content that would uplift me, and motivate me when I need it the most. Only a few of them hooked me enough to become a part of my routine.
A highly subjective list of 5 podcasts for healing, shadow work, inner child work, and general self-improvement
Skinny Dipping is definitely my favorite podcast of 2022. It’s hosted by lovely Kela Rose, and centered around the healing of one’s psyche through science and spirituality. Kela often uses the term “soul in progress” and I think her podcast is simply a helpful roadmap for people on their healing journey. Some episodes are interviews, and others are based on the host’s personal experiences, but they are all valuable and rich in helpful healing insight. One of the latest episodes (“Stop trying to Fix the Problem and Instead Start Healing the Pattern”) covers harmful patterns that stay with us throughout the years and the way they cause the majority of our problems. It was quite eye-opening for me when I discovered such patterns within myself, too. Skinny Dipping is like a mini therapy session delivered to your Spotify or Apple Podcast account every week. I just can’t recommend it enough.
I discovered this podcast by accident and well, it was one of the best accidents this year! Morning Microdose is a podcast designed to help listeners create their “sacred mornings” and start the day with clarity, inspiration, and alignment. All episodes are under 15 minutes, as the podcast itself is made out of short excerpts from The Almost 30 Podcast hosted by Krista Williams and Lindsey Simcik. I listen to it every few days and it always boosts my mood in the morning! You can find it on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other streaming platforms of your choice.
The first thing you have to know: The Sunday Soother is definitely one of my favorite newsletters, and the podcast is a natural extension of every subject discussed in the newsletter. Now, what’s The Sunday Soother all about? It’s a podcast centered around intentional living and personal development, designed for highly sensitive people. Hosted by Catherine Andrews, it’s a solid dose of wisdom about fear, anxiety, goal-setting, self-worth, and everything that you might need to analyze during your self-healing journey. While Catherine addresses much of her material to more mature women, I deeply resonate with everything she writes and records, so I think it is a brilliant resource for people in their 20s like me. You can check it out yourself on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
4. Calm it Down
Calm it Down is unsurprisingly the most calming podcast on this list. Hosted by Chad Lawson, Calm it Down is a series of beautiful reflections on daily matters that may drag us down, designed to calm our minds and untangle our inner chaos. The podcast explores such topics as grief during the holidays, drawers of emotional baggage, burnout, change, and other relevant subjects. The combination of calming music and valuable insights makes this podcast absolutely brilliant. You can listen to it on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
5. The Psychology of your 20’s
If you are in your 20's and life, at times, seems like an unsolvable puzzle, you will likely love “The Psychology of your 20’s” as much as I do. It is a podcast that explores the most common themes of our 20’s through the lenses of psychology. Previous episodes covered such topics as navigating a quarter-life crisis, dealing with rejection, career anxiety, overcoming childhood trauma, and the concept of soulmates and twin flames. Most episodes are around 40 minutes, and they’re truly worth the listen. The Psychology of your 20’s is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
You don’t have to be alone on your healing journey. Once you start listening to helpful podcasts, joining online communities, and watching relevant content, you will see that so many other people are also uprooting their own lives and rooting for you to change yours.
You are what you consume. Choose wisely.
If you are struggling with fear, you are not alone. Here’s my take on it:
