My story begins with finding out I was pregnant.

I was a young mother with so many expectations and high hopes that I did not want to disappoint my baby. Like any responsible mother I exercised, took my prenatal vitamins, attended my routine doctor visits, and read the What to Expect When You Are Expecting book.

My son was born a beautiful brown eye little seven-pound baby I named him Justin. He was cute as a button, and I took great pride in being his mother and raising him. As he got older, and I decided to return to work I began receiving numerous calls that he was struggling in school.

Outburst, behaviors, and inability to convey his wants and needs. I found myself taking off work to volunteer, help the staff, and sit with my son. My days would consist of leaving early and cutting down my hours to support my baby.

Hearing the word autism

Then one day the staff requested to assess my son. There was so much paperwork and questions on his developmental milestones and family history of illness and here I was swamped in paperwork for my son while trying to do term papers for school.
