After being radio silent for almost 5 years, rapper Isaiah Rashad has announced that his second studio album The House Is Burning will drop on July 30th. After years of speculation and snippets, the TDE signee will make his triumphant return by this month’s end. His last full-length release was 2016’s The Sun’s Tirade. Lauded by many (and myself included) for its laid-back production, Rashad’s deeply personal lyricism, and overall tone. You can check out my review of his last album down below.

So far he’s treated listeners with two lead singles: “Lay Wit Ya” feat. Duke Deuce and “Headshots (4 Da Locals)”. Both of which feature Rashad’s southern heavy style, an aspect that has set him apart from his West Coast partners in Top Dawg Entertainment.

As one of rap’s underdogs and an artist who is severely underrated in the eyes of many, it’ll be interesting to see what he’s been working on for the past 5 years. If you’re interested, feel free to check out The FADER’s cover story on Isaiah Rashad, where they cover his personal life and influences going into this album.

As always, tune into Modern Music Analysis for the full review of The House Is Burning when it drops later this month.
