Modern Music Analysis

On August 12, Medium is hosting Medium Day, a place where its writers and publications gather to celebrate the platform with a session of their choice. My publication, Modern Music Analysis, has been selected to host a session — the information is as follows:

Date: August 12, 2023
Time: 5 PM EST / 4 PM CST
Where: HopIn (online)
Session Name: “Running a Music Publication”

“With the dramatic increase in self-taught and online journalism, plus a saturated market, this panels aims to showcase what it takes to both write for and create large music publications. The idea is to dissect and observe what publications (both big and small) look for from writers from the lens of editorial teams. One of Mediums most popular niches is music so newfound and even experienced writers will get a Birds Eye view of what makes publications run.”

This session will include Mark Chinapen, Paul K. Barnes, Kevin Alexander from The Riff, Cassidy Sollazzo, Robin Krause, and myself as we peruse the meaning of writing for online music publications while illuminating some of the facets that make Modern Music Analysis and The Riff what they are. Additionally, there will be opportunity for an audience Q&A. Be sure to register and see the full slate for Medium Day by clicking here, or the link below and tune in at 5 PM EST this Saturday!
