On Being A Disabled Mom

On a warm summer day I learned about an advantage my children had because their mother was disabled. The baby I was carrying when I had a severe stroke in the sixth month of the pregnancy was in first grade. I volunteered to be a den mother for his cub scout group as part of my efforts to be as “normal” as I could.
