Hey there, fellow writer!

It’s been a slow week, but we’re so glad to report that Modern Poetics is growing. Many smart writers have applied for contributing this week, so we’re looking forward to sharing more helpful content that will help you to improve your craft!

For today, we’ll keep it short and sweet. We love to learn from other writers. And today’s post is right up that alley. In it, you’ll learn how Tolstoy described his characters’ emotions, and how you can do the same.

We’ll even provide a few writing prompts at the end, so that your characters become fully developed human beings, not flat as a sheet of paper.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to know Tolstoy to follow along. If you’re into character development and novel writing, that’s all you need.

Let us know what you think of Florian’s take on Tolstoy. We’d love to know where you struggle so we can provide the content that’s most useful and enticing to you.

Have a great weekend!
