4 Things We Don’t Worry About in Our Life Without Kids
For me, a life without kids means more freedom. I have never wanted kids nor pictured myself as a mother. Luckily I met a partner who feels the same way. Here are a few things we don’t need to worry about in our everyday life.
1. The biological clock
We don’t have to rush to travel, party, get that house or that job. The biological clock is not ticking. We don't worry about the timeline of our life. We just live it.
2. School districts
I honestly don’t know much about good or bad schools, and why should I? We don’t have to choose a place to live that is kid-friendly, has good schools, and has other families with kids. This gives us the freedom to live wherever. And also move around as much as we like, without thinking about how it affects the kids.
3. Dinner at 5 pm
In Norway, having family dinners every day is the picture of success. It should be a nutritious meal served at 5 pm before the kids are off to some afternoon activity. This causes a lot of stress for parents who finish work at 4 pm. We have the luxury of eating late dinners on the weekdays, and they are usually stress-free.
4. Travelling in the school holidays
We don’t need to take vacations during school holidays — and best of all, we don't need to choose an all-inclusive hotel with a kids club. Because let’s face it, having Lollo and Bernie at your hotel is very comfortable when you have kids.
