A Grandmother’s Love
Let your legacy reign
Leonide Leon, aka Nuni, was laid to rest today. We met when I was 16, and whenever she saw me, she’d open her arms and say, “DEEE” in the sweetest voice. If it takes a village to raise a child were a person, Nuni was the mascot. She was everyone’s grandma.
Nuni gave the best hugs; they were the ones you ran to. Her hugs made you melt and made you feel warm and safe. Her hugs were like taking a deep breath and exhaling the world's weight.
Thank you for allowing me to experience the love of a grandma. I never had the opportunity to meet my maternal grandma (she passed before my birth). Thank you for expressing love; may everyone I come in contact with feel it.
As Mother's Day approaches, I’ll remember to dance through the storms as you did!
Until we meet again. Fly high, Nuni🕊️
Lately, my stories have been grief related, but there are stages to these things. Ya, girl is on a path to healing, and as soon as I have processed the pain, I promise to tell happier stories.
Thanks for reading and being a part of the ride. I hope my expression brings you peace and healing if you are experiencing the same…
You are never alone! You are Strong. You are Worthy. You are Enough.
