Are You a ‘Real’ Woman?
Decoding Women Empowerment, Equality and Freedom
Society has long held certain expectations for women — that they must work, manage the household, and gracefully handle the pressures of multitasking.
There’s this unspoken belief that women are naturally equipped to juggle it all — office work, cooking, cleaning, childcare — while men are spared from such balancing acts.
It’s almost as if multitasking is considered a woman’s duty rather than a choice.
But isn’t this just another form of pressure?
Why is it that women are expected to take care of everything?
And more importantly, what if a woman doesn’t want to?
What if she wants to be treated equally — not just in terms of opportunity, but also in terms of expectations?
Societal norms don’t change overnight, but change can start at home. That’s exactly what my partner and I did. We sat down and had honest conversations about our expectations from each other— not in a single day, but over months, and even now when something new comes up, we talk about it.
