Strength comes in many forms
In making hard decisions
In facing impossible truths head on
In accepting that things will never be the same

Strength can look like a determined mind
Like silver hair and bright eyes
Like lips raise on one side in a smile
Like an attitude that says, ‘I still know how to play’

Strength is a woman who valued family
Who made sacrifices for those she loved
Who stayed strong when the world crumbled
Who made choices that paved a future in which those I love the most could come to be

Strength is carrying someone with you when they’ve left the world behind.

Strength is seeing their legacy in the faces around you and loving them because of it.

Strength is knowing you never have to say goodbye because they helped you become the person you are today.

Strength is the understanding that a true matriarch is beside you everyday.
