But my dream of becoming a writer was suddenly quashed. After all who can ever make a living as a writer? My ambitious parents with a humble income pushed themselves beyond their means for me to become an engineer and get a steady job, and a predictable income, get married, have kids and be happy ever after. I’m grateful to my parents and my 14 years of steady income as a techie. I realized their dreams about me. But some situations forced me to quit my job in 2018. It was then writing came to my rescue, like a long lost friend.
I was thrilled to call myself a writer and thought it’d be easy for a natural writer for me. But real world scenario of making a living writing was not even close to my fantasy.
I was just another wanna be writer in a sea of wannabees. Nobody was in the queue to buy my books online. Also mindset matters…
