I recently shared a post about my dear mother, who no longer enjoys traveling as much as she did in her earlier years. My Medium friend, Sandy Maximus, responded that her own mother still travels with guided tour groups.

Sandy’s comment brought back fond memories of a lovely friend I had when I lived in the New England area a little over a decade ago. Let’s call her Sally.

Sally was even older than my mom; however, I’ve always prided myself on making friends across all age groups. My close friend circle spans almost 25 years, and I love the different perspectives I gain from each one, depending on where they are in life.

Sally was a great deal older than anyone in my friend group, but we connected right away. This sweet lady became a mother figure to me, especially since my own mom lived in another state…
