Life Is Not About Finding Yourself But Creating Yourself
Do not be at the mercy of your fate.
Become the best version of yourself by relishing your best potential.
If life does not bestow me with what I want, well, Iāll create it myself! Sounds cool! Isnāt it?
We often talk about finding ourselves, but it will be even cooler if we can create āourselvesā rather than rambling about that we are not born with it?
To find ourselves is a cool thing but to create ourselves is a level up from there! In fact, finding and creating ourselves can happen at the same time as theyāre a lifelong process.
āWe age, we grow, we experience hardships and happiness, and in that, we both find ourselves and create ourselves. This isnāt an or, itās an and.ā
~ Sex, relationships, and mental health therapist Rachel Wright, MA, LMFT
Whenever we see a pretty girl, weāll say: ā I wish I could be as pretty as herā. When we see a wealthy guy, weāll think: āI wish I could be as rich as him.ā, āI wish could be as famous as him.ā, the list goes on.
Donāt wait for the luck or opportunity to come to you but instead create them! E.g be more proactive, offer help voluntarily to showcase your skill rather than waiting to be asked, if youāve always dreamed of having that slim body, work for it rather than feeling envy, etc.
In this modern digital age, weāre given the opportunity to achieve what we want like no other time in history.
When come to women, thereās another thing that can relate to this. What struck my mind is I once read about a lady who created her dream life by re-creating her body image with cosmetic surgery. Later on, she clinched her dream husband and continue expanding her business becoming a successful businesswoman. Thereās almost nothing we canāt achieve with such advanced medical technology nowadays!
When I was a little girl I used to think that my future was doomed as I was neither smart nor beautiful. My upbringing has a negative connotation of plastic surgery. If a girl went for plastic surgery to enhance her look, people would throw a kind of scornful look like, āWellā¦her beauty was not naturally born, she got it from plastic surgery!ā
Please donāt get me wrong! Iām not an advocate of plastic surgery, especially the excessive ones, it looks very unnatural and scary at times to me! Its failures could disfigure us permanently without remedy no matter how wealthy you are!
However, plastic surgery plays wonders for those that were struck with misfortune e.g born with a deformity, lost their limb in an accident, or due to sickness like breast cancer, etc, plastic surgery really helps to bring them hope and store their confidence to face the world again.
Iām a natural beauty advocate.
To me, nothing can compare to a healthy and glowing skin/complexion, a bountiful voluminous hair, and a fit physique, all these will speak beauty without make-up.
Alas, not too many of us are bestowed with all of these! What we could do is exercise and have a balanced diet to have this glow, and there's this magic call make-up to enhance our deemed ādeficiencyā. Iām sure many of us women know how wonderful make-up can be!
In fact, make-up is probably one of the most wonderful inventions and it helps change the lives of many women. It helps them to gain confidence(though a fake one) and it helps draw out the real confidence and shine from within.
āFake it till you get it!ā It is true when come to confidence.
I remember when I was still an ugly ducking the little touch of make-up boosted my confidence beyond what could I imagine. As I need a little ātouch-upā and a little ācover-upā to conceal my imperfection.
I do believe in the magic of make-up with the right application. The key is to bring out the best in our features and cover our imperfections.
In fact, I find that the nude make-up thatās so natural as though no make-up is the most beautiful one! As it makes us look pretty as though itās a natural beauty!
I also aim at growing old gracefully by eating right and exercising, keeping healthy emotions and mental state of mind. Iāve seen some aged women who look amazing despite their age! Elon Muskās mother is one example!
Beauty is Health. Health is Beauty
So which stage are you at now? Have you reached the stage of creating yourself? Or still in the stage of finding yourself?
