The Lazy Excuse Dressed as Faith
How many times have women been told: “Pray harder, submit more, know God better, and your relationship will work”?
It sounds holy. It sounds wise. But what it’s really saying is: “Swallow his behavior. Cover it with religion. Don’t demand accountability.”
This is not faith. This is spiritual gaslighting.
It takes the name of God — a name meant to liberate — and twists it into a gag to keep women quiet while dysfunction thrives. Instead of addressing imbalance, people pass women a Bible verse like a bandage. Instead of calling men to grow, they tell women to pray away their pain.
God Was Never Meant to Be a Scapegoat
At the heart of every faith tradition is truth, justice, compassion, and integrity. Yet somewhere along the way, the message got hijacked. Now, in too many communities, “faith” is weaponized to excuse laziness, irresponsibility, even cruelty.
