I was ashamed when I asked questions

I was ashamed at the market

I was ashamed at the school

I was ashamed at my job interview

I was ashamed by my peers

I was ashamed by their parents

I was ashamed by my friends

I was ashamed by everyone

I was ashamed every time whenever I speak

Do you know why? Because I was different, not like them

Life goes by; I found a friend who understands me without uttering the word

It was my dog who loved me unconditionally

Life has changed from that day

I don’t care, who don’t care

This attitude took me away

I started to sway

Now, people call my name

I still speak the same

But everyone understands without being ashamed

What changed? They don’t know

But I changed that. I know

Life goes on. Here I am, and I will continue

Till I will depart from the earth

To where everyone is the same

No one has a name
