Why Childless Women Are So Important in the Birthing of a New World
Things might look pretty bleak, but there’s a group of unrecognized superheroes in your midst…
The world has recently felt very scary for this single woman. And I don’t think I’m alone in that. It takes me back to the pandemic days, stuck at home alone for weeks at a time, worried I’d drop dead and no one would find me for months.
I love my single life, but it can be scary in times like these.
However, I learned something recently that helped me find strength. I might live alone, but I’m not alone. As of 2021, 52% of American women were single. Further, our growth in the labor force has wildly outpaced any other demographic, making us a very powerful cohort.
Society would have us believe that we’re a very small minority. That we are far outside the status quo (especially the never-married). That we’re literal anomalies.
But we’re not.
We (both the never-married and separated/divorced) are becoming a major socioeconomic force.
It made me realize how much power we have even in the face of what feels impossible (men with more money, ego, and power than they know what to do with). We significantly outnumber wealthy men…
