Women Will Rule The World, But Will We Make It Better?
History is like a pendulum.
One thing I know for sure: history is like a pendulum.
Wars are followed by unions. Then unions fall apart, and wars start.
Hunger is followed by abundance. Until we destroy the environment and hunger enslaves us.
The fall of one empire is followed by the rise of another.
We want globalization; then, we want to distance ourselves from everyone.
Humans like extremes. One theory is we do it to oversimplify decisions. There are so many little decisions to be made every day; who has the time and energy to learn more about the big ones? It’s easier to deem something black or white instead of wondering what color it is.
Another theory is we do it to be a part of a community. And what builds communities better than a common enemy? To be together, we have to reject something or someone. The more fierce the rejection, the closer we feel.
Extremes will always prevail. That’s how I know that women will, one day, rule the world.
