(New York, NY) February 28th, 2020: Soulful rocker, Lisa Ramey has become a force to be reckoned with. She is taking it further with her new single “You Ain’t My Friend”, out February 28th, 2020. The gritty rock track hosts raw vocals with a lyrical telling tale of toxic relationships and the games people play.

Audiences first got a taste of Ramey baring her soul in 2018 with her solo EP, “I Am…Lisa Ramey”. Her new album, Surrender, takes her artistry even further. Comprised of 13 original tracks, Ramey teamed up with her long-time collaborator, Emmy-nominated composer and multi-instrumentalist, Frank Cogliano on both producing and writing the album.

“This is one black girl who definitely knows how to rock and it shows all over this track.”
- SoulBounce

With the powerful single “You Ain’t My Friend”, Lisa Ramey shows fans what they can aspect from her debut full-length album. Following the single, Lisa Ramey will be hosting an album release show on March 27th, at Leez New York, Trinity Place in New York City, with a special guest performance from Tim Young, whose vocal talents have been featured on two Grammy-winning albums, The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen.

Growing up in St. Louis, Ramey has been performing since the age of 9, adding 11 consecutive seasons at The Muny, under her belt. Since moving to New York City in 2010, Ramey fronted a wildly popular funk-soul band, SugarBad, was in the first National Tour of White Christmas, toured the world with Cirque du Soleil as the Soul Singer in KOOZA, and had her television debut singing backup on HBO’s original series, VINYL.

For the 16th season of NBC’s The Voice, Lisa Ramey had been invited to audition and soon found herself as a member multi-platinum recording artist, John Legend’s team. Ramey had reached Top 24 (Legend’s top 6). Her rendition of “The Weight” by The Band debuted at #64 on Apple Music’s R&B Charts where she trended to a top 25 song within the first 24 hours of its release. Due to her popularity on the show, she took the stage on the finale to sing in an all-female “supergroup” of fan favorites from Season 16. In July of 2019, NBC’s Songland requested that Ramey cover “Hurt Me”, originally performed by Meghan Trainor.

In May 2019, Lisa was asked by NBC to be the host of The Voice’s monthly NYC Open Mic at Rockwood Music Hall. Since her time on the series, Lisa was named one of Soho House New York’s featured recording artists, playing a sold-out crowd in the famed Vinyl Room. She headlined the DO|AC’s Atlantic City Boardwalk Summer Series, sold out a 1000+ capacity amphitheater for a Canadian charity concert and was a guest to some of NYFW’s S/S ’19 high profile events. In December, Ramey shared the stage with the Grammy-winning artist Lauryn Hill in The Mothers Ball at NYC’s The Javits Center, sponsored by iHeartRadio, and rang in 2020 headlining at The McKittrick Hotel.
