Coming in at 750, the number of members of the eleventh project of Moeda’s Pilot Seed Program is the second highest of every one, and far ahead of the third.

COOPEREDE Bakery in Feira de Santana is meant to operate on a large scale, and as a result takes part in extensive forms of farming and has a wide variety of products available to it. These include bakery products of course, cassava, fruit, horticulture (plant conservation and soil management), and poultry. However, what makes COOPEREDE unique is in its goal to give the cooperative a lot more to work with, and also accommodations. It offers plant-fiber craftwork and textiles, devoid of chemicals or other man made additives. It also offers lodging and meals to its members as well as passerby. I’ll bet your local bakery doesn’t do that!

As a result, it will receive 42,350USD in Moeda microloans and address a number of sustainable development goals, including reducing poverty, ending hunger, providing health and well-being, providing quality education (the first to appear out of all of the projects), promote gender equality, providing decent work opportunities, reducing inequality, and responsibly consuming and producing.

Hopefully COOPEREDE will be the genesis of bakery-themed hostels! For more, check the following:
