- Moeda on IBT (International Business Times) Co-Founder Isa Yu is quoted on The International Business Times (IBT) article “How Cryptocurrency Experts Spot Token Sale Red Flags”. In this article, “How Moeda stands out from other cryptocurrencies is that Moeda’s token isn’t simply a way for users to transfer value. Moeda’s cryptocurrency system will help entrepreneurs without any official ID or banking history build credit by establishing a blockchain-based identity. This digital identity aspect gives their token added value as a cryptocurrency.” The International Business Times is an American online news publication that publishes seven national editions and four languages. The publication, sometimes called IBTimes or IBT, offers news, opinion and editorial commentary on business and commerce. IBT is one of the world’s largest online news sources.
- Moeda team off-site The Moeda team kicked off its first off-site team building event from 12/11–12/13. In this event the team developed both long-term and short-term goals.
- The offsite helped us align on the following 3–5 year “Essential Intent” of the company:
Moeda develops the Seed Program — a holistic and transparent impact lending and reporting program for community cooperative entrepreneurs, reducing investment risk by 50% relative to local markets of each project and increasing access to capital.
Connects social impact investors with seed entrepreneurs to increase cooperation and collaboration toward creating a 15% increase in progress towards the SDG indicators on aggregate.
The Moeda Seed Program tracks 1000 projects in 5 diverse markets to create positive net impact in local cooperatives that will set us up to scale the seed program globally.
Develops operational processes for Moeda based on the principles of cooperative economies that serve as a model for organizational design across all categories and geographies.
2. We set Q1 objectives for Moeda as an organization. Moeda, by the end of Q1, 2018 will:
Define pilot seed projects with quantitative metrics for project success and risk assessment.
Deploy the mobile app for Android and iOS with the ability to track seed projects through blockchain technology.
Define plan for investors to use MDA for Impact Investing.
- 17 seed projects selected 17 seed projects have been selected with a joint decision from Unicafes. Objectives such as expansion of the cooperative’s commercial capacity, production of baked goods from scratch, and increasing the capacity of the fruit pulp agribusiness are what these projects are aiming at. Official release will be out soon.
- MDA on LBank Trading pair MDA/ETH will be available on LBank (https://www.lbank.info/) next Wednesday (Dec. 20). CNY and USD deposit and withdrawal are available. This week the development team continued its work on the “Know Your Customer” process for Sprint 3. They also evaluated options for automating this review.
2. Seed Accelerator & Teaching Assistant (TA) Program
Moeda Brazilian team began the first behavioral prototype of the TA program: They are testing the natural/organic responsiveness of people from the cooperative to Moeda’s TA team interaction via SMS, WhatsApp (both voice and text message).
Brazilian team will continue meeting with cooperatives as well as Unicafes offices in Bahia and Rio Grande do Norte to do “give and take” exercises to continue to clarify the needs of our users and the potential value proposition of Moeda.
Moeda will identify the technical needs from the Seed Pilot Projects and Unicafes will provide a ready-to-be-employed list of professionals, which will be evaluated by Moeda.
