Sustainable Business and Projects Board’s Progress

1- International Coffee Week

INTERNATIONAL COFFEE WEEK (ICW) is a gathering of all players in the coffee value chain, from producers to passionate coffee consumers such as Producers, Graders, Roasters, Exporters, Domestic and International Buyers, Coffee Shop Owners, Food-service, Horeca Buyers, Baristas, Professionals from the entire sector and Coffee Lovers.

The event took place in Belo Horizonte, capital of the largest coffee-producing state in Brazil, and it offers countless activities to different professional profiles: B2B, Consumer Market or Education.

Here are some of the activities that happen during the event: a national barista championship, coffee brewing, toasting, workshops and business, and cupping room. We would like to highlight two activities:

Minas Coffee Origins — Summit 2019 — Controlled origins and the future of coffee

• Controlled Origins: The Movement and Its Relationship with the Future of Coffee

• The “Winefication” of Coffee: From Production to Elaboration to create Differentiation and Value

• Special Coffee: Is this the only way out? The potential of the collective

• Technology: building trust in the coffee chain

• Beyond Direct Trade: Transparent Trade, A Coffee Chain Transparency Movement

IWCA Regional Leadership Summit — Latin America & Caribbean

• Traditional Breakfast with Coffee Women

• Marketing Coffee Produced by Women — Buyer’s Perspective

• Women Connection — Gender Equity on the Table

We also had the opportunity to make new contacts and strengthen some partnerships.

2 — We have moved forward with some research and structuring to supply Cashew, Baru and Brazil nuts to be exported to China to meet the demand of this market.

3 — ADS — Solidarity Distribution Center

Proposal for a partnership of a solidarity distribution center in SP with ADS.

Communications Team

01. BlockFriday — Last week, in partnership with Catarina Mina, we conducted a 24-hour campaign entitled “BLOCKFRIDAY”. The purpose was not to offer a discount but purpose and reflection instead. 100% of sales revenue through the MoedaPay platform went straight to the craftswomen’s account.

02. We closed a partnership between Catarina Mina, Johnson & Johnson and Moeda — 250 Catarina Catarina bags were sold (#Artesaniaas #Caiana collection for a J&J internal action). The company is fully committed to buying from those who are working in a transparent and sustainable way.

03 We started planning in partnership with Access the event that will happen in Ceará for the activation of Moeda | Mastercard cards during the week of December 16th.

04 In addition, we are working on the 2020 planning and we have finished the ONBOARDING section — which is about welcoming new Moeda team members.

Keep on top of everything that Moeda does to humanize finances and distribute impact. Follow our social networks.
