What is a Guardian?
A Guardian is a vital participant in the MOI network who runs MOI Pod, our validator client, playing a crucial role in managing network operations and ensuring security. As a Guardian, you will be at the forefront of the blockchain revolution, helping to maintain the integrity and functionality of the network and enable creation of an equitable and sustainable web3 network that puts user ownership and control as a foundational network purpose.
Who Can Participate?
To be part of the BABYLON testnet, operators need to meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age: We believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive community of Guardians.
- Verify your identity using IOME: We take security seriously, and identity verification is an important step to ensure a trustworthy network. Individuals will need to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, while entities will need to go through Know Your Business (KYB) verification.
Recommended Specifications
To ensure optimal performance and contribution to the BABYLON testnet, we recommend the following hardware specifications:
- CPU: 4 cores
- RAM: 16 GB
- Storage: 512 GB
- Bandwidth: 300GB — 500GB* with a minimum speed of 500 Mbps
These specifications will provide you with a reliable and efficient setup to effectively participate in the BABYLON testnet.
Incentivization for Guardians
At MOI, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the efforts of our Guardians. As a Guardian in the BABYLON testnet, you will be incentivized with 200 MOI Tokens per day for your valuable contributions. These incentives are calculated based on uptime, participation in interaction processing, and data storage. The more actively you engage and contribute, the more rewards you can earn.
