Happy Pride Month!

Jerusalem Pride Parade, 2016

June is PRIDE MONTH! It makes me so happy that there is already so much LGBTQ+ programming happening in the MHWOW community. To the hosts who are creating these spaces, I SEE YOU AND I APPRECIATE YOU.

Here are our top 5 resources to help you create awesome pride programs not just this month but throughout the year!

1. LGBTQI…J! Gender in Jewish Texts

Our girl Faustine Sigal created an awesome text study and discussion guide about where and how the Torah addresses gender. There’s so much here, and it’s fascinating. You could do a series of programs based on this source guide alone. Thank you Faustine!

2. OneTable’s Pride Shabbat Guide

OneTable’s Pride Shabbat Guide has what you need to lead a pride-themed Shabbat dinner from start to finish. Don’t miss the Pinterest board with tons of rainbow recipes and decorations! I especially like the suggestion to print out these signs to make bathrooms gender neutral and welcoming.

3. Tribeca Film Fest’s Best 2018 LGBT Films

Host a movie night with the Best LGBT Films from this year’s Tribeca Film Festival!

4. Keshet’s Jewish Guide for Celebrating LGBTQ Pride

Keshet (which means “rainbow” in Hebrew) works for full LGBTQ equality in Jewish life. Their Jewish Guide for LGBTQ Pride has printable stickers, inspiring blog posts, and tearjerker YouTube videos to get you pumped for pride.

5. The RAC’s Pride Shabbat Resources

By the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism

The Religious Action Center has readings and sermons from rabbis around the world on LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion. I especially love the poems.

Thank you for making MHWOW inclusive for ALL Jews. We’re excited to spotlight your pride programs in the next newsletter, so make sure to take great pictures!
