Today MTonomy is releasing “Losers”, a coming-of-age tale about four misfit high school friends.

Directed by actor/writer/director Ivaylo Hristov, and shot in black and white by Bulgaria’s most revered cinematographer, Emil Christov, “Losers” received the Golden George award at the Moscow International Film Festival and is the first Bulgarian film ever nominated for the Foreign Language Oscars.

Elena, Koko, Patso and Gosho are high school students in a small provincial town, and the one thing they know for sure is that they’re losers. Koko is in love with Elena, who’s more interested in becoming a singer and escaping her troubled home. When Elena learns that a famous rock band is coming to their town for a concert, everything changes. It’s an event that shakes up the town where nothing ever happens, leading to new love affairs, disappointments and the grief of growing up.
