Has OnlyFans Capitulated to Internet Prostitutes?
OnlyFans Reversed it’s Decision to Ban ‘Sexually Explicit Content’.
Just a week ago, content subscription service “OnlyFans” announced it will be banning sexually explicit content on it’s site. The site originally started out as a competitor to patreon, but very quickly became the worlds biggest independent pornographical subscription service after budding porn stars used it to make a more lucrative and personal alternative to being a star for an agency.
The site saw a massive boost during COVID when women looking for alternative income sources — and too much time on their hands — sold their dignity to lonely men for a couple of dollars a month.
Announced in a press release just a week ago, OnlyFans said they will be banning ‘sexual explicit content’ but not ‘nudity or suggestive imagery’ on their site. This was due to demands made by banking partners which OnlyFans used as their primary payment platforms.
The site seemed to have capitulated just a week later, saying in a tweet that it had:
“Secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned october 1 policy change”
They later added:
“Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard”
This capitulation after the blow back from so-called “Sex-Workers”, came just a day after the founder and CEO of OnlyFans, Tim Stokely, said in an interview with the Finnancial Times that big banking firms working with them did not want to be associated with ‘sex-work’, saying:
“JPMorgan Chase is particularly aggressive in closing accounts of sex workers or […] any business that supports sex workers.”
This of course was not a reversal after ‘assurances’ from banking partners, it was a fearful retreat after a strong Twitter backlash from fellow thots and their SIMP counterparts.
When OnlyFans made their announcement, many on the right-wing including conservatives and traditionalists praised OnlyFans for seemingly going against the grain and standing up for decency and modesty. However, with just over a week passed since the announcement, conservatives have been left disappointed at the policy change reversal.
