Read This If You Are A Perfectionist (It’ll Help You Create More Freely)
How perfectionism is keeping you from achieving more, and what to do about it
I get it; you want to put out the perfect work so people can admire it and say nice things about it. You want more people to follow you and engage with your work. You want your work to be the best.
If that’s you, I have one thing to say: Wake up!
The reality is different because no matter how much you want positive outcomes, you cannot control the outcome of your work.
Perfectionists aren’t just about the results. I know this because some of my perfectionist friends don’t care about how their work performs. Instead, it’s their self-doubt that has kept them from taking action.
They fear publishing their work because they don’t think it's worth it. They are never satisfied with what they produce. And that’s a huge problem.
Dear perfectionists, stop overthinking your creations. It doesn’t matter if some of them aren’t as good as you had anticipated. You can go for it again. It’s not the end of the world.
There is no problem with creating imperfect work. In fact, it’s more likely to make you better at what you do.
