Sweet memories of a glass of (pre-pregnancy) Prosecco I met in Sedona, Ariz.

’Tis the season to eat, drink, and be merry — but for me, the middle part is taking a different meaning this year. I’m four months’ pregnant, which of course means no holiday cocktails, wine, or bubbly.

First, to be clear, I’m very excited to be pregnant. It’s definitely a blessing and we can’t wait to meet our baby boy in April.

Okay, now that I got that disclaimer out of the way — I. Miss. Wine. I live in Los Angeles, where wine is sold everywhere from the drug store to Target.

My husband and I belong to not one, but two wine clubs in the Napa area. Despite the five-hour drive, we visit so often, employees at both recognize us when we come rolling in.

By this point, it probably goes without saying that most of our friends are also passionate social drinkers. I don’t want to be completely left out, so I’ve immersed myself in an alternate plan on nights out — and let’s be honest, on my couch in front of the television.

Here’s a look at my alcohol-free playbook.

1. Mocktails

I used to think mocktails were pointless — then I got pregnant. Truth be told, I don’t really like the taste of liquor, but when made alcohol-free, cocktails actually taste good.
