A look back to 2017 — Blogs and Personal

I wrote about what happened to my business in figures for 2017. This time around, I’m doing the same thing for my blogs’ stats as well as some personal stuff (mostly finance related).

2017 wasn’t a really good year for my blog as I didn’t focus a lot on it. I made some great collaborations/connections with brands but didn’t follow-through, which was a huge mistake. That is definitely one huge mistake I will correct this year.

Here are some figures for my two main blogs in 2017:

  • January — 4240 / 74 (HMA/TCS)
  • February — 4338 / 90
  • March — 7584 / 77
  • April — 4041 / 90
  • May — 3531 / 58
  • June — 2028 / 54 (I accidentally disconnected my GA here)
  • July — 2944 / 80
  • August — 2671 / 67
  • September — 2569 / 78
  • October — 5071 / 204
  • November — 5617 / 223
  • December — 4527 / 135

My chart looks very inconsistent. I’d love to see them consistently in the 5k mark (for both blogs) and also use some SEO techniques along the way. The ultimate goal would be to have 25–30k views, so I can apply for AdThrive.

As for my socials, I didn’t really monitor them per month but here are the stats for the end of the year:

  • Facebook — 7,006 / 86
  • Twitter — 2145 / 326
  • Instagram — 2024 / 52
  • Pinterest — 1907 / 315
  • Email Subs — 232 / 11

I’ll only be focusing on Facebook and Pinterest this year, or at least the first half of the year, and maybe add in Facebook Group(s) to the mix.

I’ll do the goal setting in another post.

As for my personal goals for 2017, I realized I didn’t have a lot of them and I failed on those I did have. Some highlights though:

  • moved to our new house
  • *nearly* paid off our equity
  • paid off some personal and consumer debts

I have some awesome goals lined up for myself this coming 2018 and I am very excited to share them with you and crush them.

See you in 2018!
