A long life
‘It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it… Life is long if we know how to use it’
These words were written by Seneca.
He added ‘People are frugal in guarding their personal property; but as soon as it comes to squandering time they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it is right to be stingy.’
When we think of how we spend our days and hence our lives in light of these words, the concept of boredom seems to be the strangest thing ever.
How is it that there is so much we wish to do, so often we complain about a lack of time and yet we have the time to get bored?
Isn’t that something to think about?
