Debris: rubble, wreckage, ruins, litter and discarded garbage, scattered remains of something destroyed- words used to describe the remains of war or a natural disaster.

But debris is also caused when you destroy something in order to build something new or better. Say a building that is broken down to construct a new one or a mountain that is blown up by a dynamite to build a tunnel through it.

There are two things to note about debris:

1. You cannot progress much in life if you don’t deal with the aftermath of debris

2. Not all debris is garbage. Below the mountain of rubbish, more often than not there is something of value

Given that most of us aren’t in construction, we may feel we have no role to play here. The work we do in our life- on our laptops, in our kitchens, in our studios or on event sites- all creates debris.

How you clear and deal with your debris plays a huge role in defining your path to success.
