Every year on this day, I make a list. I make lots of lists everyday, but this is the list that acts as a compass for the rest of the year and as a base for next year.

Today on my 30th birthday, I want to share 3 things from that list with you.

1. Inside Out:

Striving for a wholesome mind, body and soul.

These three constitute what you recognize as yourself. If they are not in sync or malfunctioning, not much can be achieved through external solutions.

On good days and bad days, through the year, I am going to work on healing, strengthening and growing what’s within before looking for quick fixes without.

2. One more candle:

Every passing year is the best version of your self that you’ve ever been. It is also the worst that you will ever be.

I have been excited about turning 30 for a few years now. Growing older has never bothered me. But I want to use this list to remind myself of the reason.

Focusing on growth rather than moping about the inevitable removes all the worry that comes from ageing and helps you embrace all the grace that it brings.

I will look at each day as Day 1 to the rest of my life.

3. The System:

Two heads are better than one.

For the last couple of months, I have tracked a lot of my life. This has allowed me to navigate through complex days and fulfil commitments on time without getting overwhelmed.

However, the existing tools come with their own set of drawbacks. I haven’t found one all encompassing system, I have tried many.

So this year will be dedicated to creating ‘The System’ that will help me outsource my brain. This will allow my physical brain to be 100% present in the moment. My mind will have the space to shut down or run wild as desired.

There are many more items- both small and big on this Year 30 list and I will share those as well as updates on these three in other musings.
