The Other side
If I could master only one skill, that skill would be Negotiation.
I came across a great thought while reading some old mails this morning: ‘It’s almost impossible to convince someone of something once they see you as being on the other side’
This forms an important aspect in the art of negotiation. Never alienate the person you are negotiating with. Let them feel in power. Make them feel that you are negotiating with and not against them.
An effective negotiator aims to achieve a win-win situation as often as possible.
I haven’t covered any points from this video in my musing as it is slightly unrelated. But it is one of the better videos that you will find on the science of persuasion.
