Monday mornings are widely hated. People, mood, traffic- all seem to be at their week’s worst. So what is this curse of Monday? Let’s explore it a little.

In my understanding, it has nothing to do with the Monday itself. Mondays just bear the brunt of the preceding weekend.

Since a lot of us millennials seem to be living for the weekend, we shut ourselves away from tasks and schedule come Friday evening. Unfortunately, our responsibilities don’t take the weekly holiday we all tend to.

When do you think that unfinished email from Friday evening will come back to haunt you? Monday.

When will not working out and partying all weekend show it’s effects on your health? Monday.

When will you realize the burden of the never-ending list of household chores? Monday.

I do not think there is a one-size-fits-all solution to beating these Monday blues. That will depend on your lifestyle and priorities.

I am also not saying there is anything wrong with unplugging during a weekend. What I am saying is that being intentional about your life doesn’t hurt. Being aware that things you do and more importantly things you do not do will have repercussions that only you get to deal with.

Your weekdays are busy and difficult, yes. So naturally, you expect your weekends to be the opposite. But here’s the thought I want to leave you with- What can you do to make your weekdays a little less intense and your weekends a little more responsible?
